Local businesses celebrate delivery of over 3,500 community projects
Since our inception in 2006, Arc Partnership has delivered 3,511 community projects and £394 million worth of investment on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.
Now, with the County Council extending the joint venture by a further five years to 2031, we wanted to offer our gratitude to our local supply chain, that helped deliver these essential community projects and services, while also looking forward to the next chapter of growth and innovation in Nottinghamshire.
114 local suppliers, from small family-run SMEs to larger construction partners, attended the breakfast event at the Belfry Hotel on Monday, 2 December. They heard from Dan Maher, Managing Director at Arc Partnership as well as Wayne Bexton, Director for Green Growth, Investment and Assets at NCC and Cllr Keith Girling, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Asset Management at NCC. Each of them spoke about the positive collaboration and innovation between Arc Partnership and its supply chain.
Attendees also heard from Chris Clarke, Performance and Improvement Director for Arc Partnership on how we can work together with the supply chain to deliver real value in terms of social value. Since 2020, Arc has delivered more than £277 million in social value as outlined in our latest Social Value Report.
Arc Partnership and its local supply chain are currently supporting a number of significant projects across the region on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. This includes £15m worth of school building and improvement works across the county, the brand-new SEN school in Mansfield, Horizons Academy and the council’s new flagship office, Oak House in Hucknall.
Cllr Keith Girling, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Asset Management at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “I am delighted with Arc Partnership, especially when you look at the incredible number of projects which have been delivered across Nottinghamshire.
“In addition to providing value for money and quality, a key part of Arc Partnership’s ethos is social value and demonstrating real value in terms of local spend – which is fantastic news for Nottinghamshire’s economy.
“I know it prides itself on working with Nottinghamshire suppliers and businesses – ensuring that the economic benefits are distributed within the community and supporting the growth of local enterprises.”
“It is also doing all this by using a locally employed workforce and supply chain, with 90 per cent of its staff living in Nottinghamshire - highlighting its commitment to developing local skills."
Wayne Bexton, Director of Green Growth, Investment and Assets at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: ‘‘It was fantastic to see Arc Partnership’s local supply chain and delivery partners turn out in significant numbers for a memorable event last week. The opportunity to thank the delivery agents for the last 12 months was really important, with this true partnership approach delivering exceptional outcomes for residents across Nottinghamshire. It was also my pleasure to present a forward look of all the opportunities ahead and no doubt all organisations in the room will have a part to play in delivering on these opportunities linked to the new Combined Authority, Regeneration and Sustainability.’’
